World mental health day 2023
Monday 10th October 2023 is World Mental Health Day. The theme for this year, as set by the World Federation for Mental Health, is ‘Mental health is a universal human right’.
World Mental Health Day is about raising awareness of mental health and driving positive change for everyone’s mental health. It’s also a chance to talk about mental health, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to get help if you are struggling.
This theme is particularly important because it highlights that while more of us are becoming aware of mental health and wellbeing, many people still aren’t getting access to the support they need.
In school we created form pledges to work together to create a school environment that supports, understands and empowers everyone’s mental health, as a universal human right.
Thank you Day 2023
Sunday 2nd July is the UK’s 3rd annual Thank You Day! We will be celebrating the day on Monday 3rd July in school as after yet another tough year, our friends, pupils, neighbours and communities matter more than ever.
Over the past two years, 15 million people have taken part in thank you day to say thank you for everyone and everything that makes our communities great places to live in and we want to recognise this within our school community.
Pupils will be taking part in random of acts of kindness towards all pupils in school and will think about the things that they are thankful for throughout the day.
I just wanted to express our own thanks to all of our families for the ongoing support and relationships you have with all the staff in school. We teach our pupils that our school community is ‘One Family Inspired to Learn’ and this wouldn’t be possible without your support.
So a really big THANK YOU to you all for thank you day.
Mental Health Awareness Week 2023
This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week 2023 theme is Anxiety. Anxiety is a normal emotion in us all, but sometimes it can get out of control and become a mental health problem.
In school we celebrated this by promoting mental health and wellbeing resources and activities around school and then had ‘Wear it green day’. All pupils and staff were encouraged to wear an item of green to raise awareness and money for the Mental Health Foundation. From this and a bake sale we raised £125.50.
